EXERCISEIs discouraged on the diet.
Unless you fully disclose what you do on a daily basis, they can adjust for it.
The diet and calorie intake is based on folks with no exercise regime. I mean really. I wasnt running marathons prior to joining the diet, so why would I fool myself to think that I would become physically active while trying to diet. Its enough for me to just manage working an 8-hour day, manage a household (equitably with my husband of course!), support my kids activities, and try to squeeze in an hour of t.v. for rest and relaxation. Running? Cycling? The gym? Good luck... Thats the reason Im in the 65+lbs overweight situation Im in. Lack of "me" time.
If you are exercising, be sure to get your protein and potassium on time, and have some veggies/breads with you in case you feels your blood sugar is dropping.
I had it today where we had our office retreat. I forgot, in all the morning rush, to bring my lunch which I had in the fridge. I only had veggies/salad for lunch (they had burgers and sausages which I couldnt eat) then we played soccer for our team building. Of course I was burning up the field, making career limiting moves like taking the ball from my boss and body checking my teammates. Oops....! :-)
Nonetheless, I was getting very tired and weak because I didnt have my protein or lunch potassium fizzy drink, and no access to eggs or an alternative.
We are getting more active as a family. Of course its easier in the summer, than in our cold Canadian snow-laden winters to enjoy the outdoors. While we do enjoy skiing, it was difficult even trying to find the proper gear in size 18-20 that didnt make you look and feel like the Abominable Snowman, and could maneouver on the slopes. In the summer, were biking as a family, and with our pool, Im doing some good laps and 20-minute treading water routines to move the skin and body. The doctors gave swimming the two thumbs up as acceptable and recommended exercise for those on the diet.
Ive also bought some easy 5 lb weights to work on my biceps, triceps and shoulders. I dont want the turkey fat arms, so Im slowly toning and building the muscles while Im on the diet, so strengthen slowly what has been laying in wait all these years. Im already seeing a difference. Look out Michelle Obama - Im coming up behind you to rival your toned arms! :-)
