Im embarking into Month 2 with a visit from Aunt Flo....great. Water retention still occurs while on the program. The B6/B12 injections have limited my usual cramping, but I had a real slowdown in loss during the week.
Tomorrow morning will tell how my burn is. For the most part, Ive been steady between a 2-3 burn rate for ketosis. The machine is working!
For my diet, Im sticking pretty close to egg white and chicken for my proteins, with a weekly helping of lean beef (3.5 oz max.) I must have my red meat. Along with a good shiraz, a good steak is my Achilles heel. So, since wine is a definite no-no on the program, I try to harken back to my little indulgences with memories of steak. However, I do pay for it the next day with a slight drop in ketosis. What the hell....a girls gotta still live too.
Like any food addiction, I do find it physically troublesome to be around fresh baked bread, popcorn and chips. The salty starchy carbs. I have never cheated on the diet, and will not (given the price you pay financially and physically) but Im learning where my weak spots are. I dont miss the alcohol at all - I could give a crap about that. I do miss the starches. So, I know in maintenance, that will be my area to learn portion control and balance.
My MONTH 1 reward for myself? With a 3.5" loss in my waist, and 1" loss in my hips, I was able to buy myself 8 new tops (from The Gap!) in a Large. No more XL or 1XL for me. No more AdditionElle or Penningtons. Thank goodness. Im allergic to polyester and rayon bold print.
Anyway, Ill keep you posted on my progress. With a goal weight of 140, I have another 47 pounds to go. Two more months on program - but a lifetime of maintenance.
